First off , where are you at in the game? and what type of char do you have?

I would start by capping all the avaliable skills

Capping all the skills would require gold, which is apparent that he lacks. Reveal the entire map, fighting with henchmen everywhere picking up everything. Identify every white item because that can sometimes increase the value of it by about 20 gold. Every little bit helps.

Avicara Scalps and Intricate Grawl Necklaces that don't sell for a whole lot, but 5 can be traded in for collector's items that you can merchant for 125 gold each.

Sorrow's Furnace and Grenth's Footprints, there are some green items that you can sell for a fair amount.
